June Roundup - Sales, Patch News, and More!

We’re nearly through June and what month it’s been! The GOG Summer Sale has just finished, making way for the Steam Summer Sale! This month we’ve been matching prices on both sales on Beamdog.com, so be sure to let us know if you’ve picked up a deal through us.

All of our Enhanced Edition titles and soundtracks have been marked down on Steam and Beamdog.com, so it’s the perfect time to pick an adventure for the summer (and maybe one for the fall, and another for the winter…). If you haven’t picked up Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, you can now do so at 50% off - the best price this game has ever been at!

By popular demand, the official soundtracks for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition, Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition are now available on Beamdog.com and GOG. Act quick to get the soundtracks on sale on Steam, Beamdog, and (soon!) GOG!

So what have we been up to this month? Patch 3.1.3 was released for Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition, fixing bugs reported by the community. We’ve had a lot of positive feedback about the patch and are continuing to listen to what fans are saying about the game and what bugs they find.

Earlier in the month, we sent out a survey to our mailing list of Siege of Dragonspear: Collector’s Edition owners and the feedback we got back was invaluable. We’re still going through all the comments but from what we’ve seen, we’re sure your suggestions will absolutely help shape any future collector’s editions we create in the future.

Enhanced Edition owners on Steam were treated to a surprise last week when we released trading cards for our pre-PST:EE games. Since then we’ve seen an amazing number of messages from happy collectors and even a few reports of completed badges!

The team is continuing work on the iOS patches which include 64-bit support. With iOS 11 coming this fall, getting patches out to ensure owners of Enhanced Edition games on iTunes can continue to play their adventures is one of our top priorities. We’ll have more to share on these patches soon.

The Beamdog Client will also be seeing a patch in the near future fixing several reported issues and adding localization for Spanish and Italian users.

Oh, let’s not forget that the Beamdog team is growing! A few new faces will be joining us in the months ahead and we’re still taking applications for a Producer to help us bring new titles into the world. If you’ve got the skills, apply!

Enhanced Edition Steam Trading Cards

You must gather your trading cards to venture forth.
Beamdog fans on Steam have been asking for trading cards for some time now and today we’re excited to share that Steam trading cards are now available for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition!

Gotta collect 'em all!
Now, owners of each of our Enhanced Edition titles (including Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition) can collect sets of Steam trading cards to earn badges, emoticons, and backgrounds for those games. We can't wait to see just how fast it takes for the first person to craft a level five badge!

Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Fan Art

“Don’t be afraid” by TariToons… Do not fear to share your art.
Planescape: Torment players around the world have been creating and sharing stunning fan art of the Planescape universe and memorable characters since the original’s release in 1999.

Inspired by Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition, fans from different countries have been creating unique interpretations of the Nameless One and his companions. We're excited to share with the world what our fans have sent to us.

Read the story of your soul.
We’ll start with this amazing poster for Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition by hiphopmummy.
The poster was one of the first pieces of PST:EE fan art sent to us shortly after our announcement of that game. It looks gorgeous and we love the Mike Mignola vibe!

Devils, demons... The Nameless One is ready for anything.
Alexander Biryukov, a 3D character artist from Saint Petersburg, says the protagonist of Planescape: Torment is probably one of the most interesting characters in the history of gaming and we agree! He does an amazing job to show the Nameless One going through the Lower Planes to seek redemption alongside his loyal companion, Morte.

Hey, chief. You okay?
The story of the Nameless One and Morte is definitely touching, and one of our favorite community cartoonists, TariToons, created this comic to express her feelings about Morte's backstory. Even the most treacherous misdeeds can be forgiven, no question.

“Awesome!” ~Chris Avellone
S0ulafein's has put pencil to paper to capture his take on one of his favorite Planescape: Torment characters, Dak’kon. The original githzerai concept is heavily based on eastern warriors, and this image greatly reflects on that heritage.

“Here's your high tech armor, Morte.” ~Nordom
We're pretty sure that Beamdog forum member Brus has visited the plane of Mechanus. How else could he have designed this battlesuit for Morte?

This is only a small part of Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition fan art out there. We love seeing all the amazing work our fans have made. If you’ve created fan art for one of our games, be sure to share it with us on Facebook, Twitter, and in our forums. We can't wait to see what else you all have to show!

PST:EE Patch 3.1.3 And What's Next for Beamdog

The first patch for Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition is now available on Beamdog, Steam, GOG, Google Play, iTunes, and Mac App store!

Patch 3.1.3 focuses on bug fixes and localization improvements for desktop and mobile versions of the game. If you don’t see the patch immediately, please be patient as the update should populate in your region soon. Linux fans will be happy to hear this patch also adds 64 bit support.

A full list of patch notes is available at the bottom of this post.

And now for more exciting news! Beamdog fans have been asking about what’s next and the answer is… lots!

Our team of translators have already started work on PST:EE in multiple languages including Czech, Ukrainian, Italian, and more! Because these are volunteer-driven projects, we do not currently have a release date for any new languages. The new Beamdog Localization Coordinator is currently assessing each of our translation projects on our other Enhanced Edition titles and as projects are completed, we’ll add them to upcoming patches.

Our fans on iOS will be pleased to hear that we’re aware of the notification you’ve all been seeing regarding 32-bit applications and can rest assured that we will have all of our Enhanced Edition games upgraded to 64-bit as part of our 2.4 patch series. The Beamdog team has already started on the 64 bit update for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and plans to address the same issue on Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition afterwards. Expect to see more details on these iOS patches later this summer.

Once the 2.4 patch series has been completed, we will bring those improvements to desktop and Android versions of BG:EE, BGII:EE, and IWD:EE alongside more bug fixes and feature requests submitted by the community, including Steam achievements for Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition.

As we get further into development, fans who own Enhanced Edition games on Beamdog will be able to opt into available betas through the Beamdog Client. Beta availability will be announced on all of our social channels, so stay tuned!

We’ve got a few other projects in the works including Steam trading cards. Watch out for more news in future updates! In the meantime, read on for a full list of bugs and features included in PST:EE patch 3.1.3!
